Encompass to Sponsor 2014 Chicago Golf Show

The Encompass Championship presented by Career Builder will be the 2014presenting sponsor of the 31st annual Chicago Golf Show, Feb. 21-23, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, show officials announced today.

"The Chicago Golf Show is thrilled to welcome the Encompass Championship as its exclusive Presenting Sponsor for 2014," said Tom Corcoran, Chicago Golf Show organizer. "We are honored that the Chicago area's premier 2014 PGA TOUR Champions Tour event has chosen to launch its promotional campaign at the Chicago Golf Show. The Encompass Championship will offer show attendees half-price general admission tickets to the tournament, June 16-22, at North Shore Country Club in Glenview. Good Any One Day tickets normally priced at $25 each will be sold for $12.50 at the show. Attendees can pick up the promo code at the Encompass Championship exhibit booth and purchase tickets online at www.encompasschampionship.com. Anyone purchasing tickets at the show will be entered into a special prize drawing.

Galeski said the tournament will be recruiting volunteers for this summer's event and will be informing attendees about the tournament's new Birdies for Charity program. The tournament trophy will be on display in the exhibit booth.

For the fifth consecutive year, GolfVisions, which operates a dozen courses across the Chicago area, will be giving away thousands of rounds of free golf to Golf Show attendees.

The Encompass Championship - an event on the PGA TOUR's Champions Tour - will feature 81 players age 50 and above, including eight Hall of Famers, the week of June 16-22 at North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Ill. The defending champion is Craig Stadler, who won the inaugural tournament last year.

The Chicago Golf Show is the only golf show supported by the Illinois PGA. As always, dozens of Illinois PGA professionals will be on hand to offer attendees free lessons on the full swing, short game, and putting. Esteemed golf instructors will conduct seminars on the Golf Academy Stage to help attendees get their games in shape for the coming season.
