Fyre Lake National is Locally Grown
Although Fyre Lake National Golf Club Community is a new to the Sherrard and Quad City area, the individuals working hard behind the scenes are very much part of the community. The Fyre Lake Ventures LLC development group has hired several people in both the golf and residential operations from the local area.
Jim Wyffels, Director of Golf Operations - Jim returned to his hometown to become Fyre Lake National's course superintendent. Raised in Geneseo and educated in the Quad Cities, Jim left the area for more than a dozen years to construct and manage operations for Chicagoland and Galena area courses. Jim returned in 2007 to build Fyre Lake National in a way " that the residents and Quad Cities Area can be proud of. Fyre Lake National will certainly be worth the wait." Jim, wife, Krista, and daughters Katie and Allie are reside in Geneseo.
Jordan Weaver, Assistant Golf Superintendent - Jordan grew up from grade school through graduation as a Sherrard Tiger and resident of Fyre Lake. He received his degree in Golf Course Management and has previously worked for Pinnacle, TPC, and Bryn Mawr near Chicago. Jordan and wife, Abby, expanded their family in 2009 with daughter, Rylie. They reside in Sherrard.
Annie Thomas, Residential Operations & Marketing - Annie was born and raised in Aledo. After receiving her business degree from the University of Iowa, she returned to the area to work in real estate marketing consulting. Annie and her husband, Chris, and son, Deane, just recently moved from Muscatine to Fyre Lake National. Annie "is excited to be close to her family, living in a beautiful community with a great school district and a very short commute."
Sara Broyles, Property Consultant - Sara was born and raised in DeWitt. She has been raising her family of two children, Austin, 14, and Lily, 10, with husband Jason, in the Quad Cities area while working in real estate. The Broyles family currently resides in Bettendorf. Sara says, "The 20 minute to commute each day to Fyre Lake reminds me to tell visitors how easy it is to get from Fyre Lake to everywhere in the Quad Cities." Sara and her family enjoy time spent together following her son's traveling baseball team and other school sports.
Lindsey Brown, Office Assistant - Lindsey joined Fyre Lake National in 2009, following in her brother, Jordan's path. Being very familiar with Fyre Lake, Lindsey is a great fit for her position at the Fyre Lake National Information Center. Lindsey is a familiar face to the Sherrard area because of her previous role in the Early Childhood Education field. She enjoys interacting with the community and seeing all that this project brings to it. Lindsey lives outside of Sherrard with her husband, Kent, and son, Carter.
Annie Thomas states, " We know the Quad Cities market has a great deal of talent to offer. Working with friendly, knowledgeable individuals who understand our community and its residents has made growing Fyre Lake National, both the course and the company, a very enjoyable process."
