New Spirit Airlines Daily, Non-stop Chicago To Myrtle Flights Begin March 1, 2009!
Tens of thousands of Midwesterners travel to Myrtle Beach, SC each year to play golf on its world-famous courses, but if Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday and Spirit Airlines have anything to say about it-and they do-the relationship between Myrtle Beach and Midwesterners is just beginning.
Beginning March 1, 2009, the daily, non-stop service between Chicago and Myrtle Beach will begin. The Spirit Airlines flights will originate out of O'Hare Airport and provide a low-cost link between America's favorite golf destination and one of its most golf-crazed cities. Daily flights from the ultra low-cost carrier will run through November 11, 2009 to coincide with the peak golf season.
"The Spirit Airlines daily, non-stop service to Chicago represents an enormous opportunity for Myrtle Beach," said Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday President Bill Golden. "We already know Midwesterners are avid golfers, but in this economy we expect many more to vacation at top domestic golf destinations served by low-priced airlines. Thanks to Spirit Airlines, traveling to and from Myrtle Beach and Chicago is about to get easy and inexpensive."
With 102 courses alongside 60-miles of sandy-white beaches, the Myrtle Beach area is home to a higher concentration of championship courses than any golf destination in the world.
Spirit will be featuring a host of introductory rates from Chicago to Myrtle Beach this spring. Direct Air will also be shuttling golfers to Myrtle Beach from Rockford, Illinois.
