Sluman, Gould and Collins to appear at the 2014 Chicago Golf Show

Six-time PGA TOUR champion Jeff Sluman, All-Pro kicker Robbie Gould and Northwestern basketball coach Chris Collins will make their first appearances ever at this year's Chicago Golf Show Presented By The Encompass Championship presented by Career Builder.

Also making his debut at the Chicago Golf Show will be NBC and Golf Channel broadcaster Mark Rolfing, who will host the players on the Daily Herald Main Stage and at an expansive Golf Hawaii exhibit area. Long snapper Patrick Mannelly also will join Gould and Rolfing on the Stage.

In addition to seeing the celebrities, everyone who attends the Chicago Golf Show is eligible to receive a free round of golf courtesy of GolfVisions, which operates 11 courses in the Chicago area.

The 31st annual Chicago Golf Show is scheduled for Feb. 21-23 (Fri.-Sun.) at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, on River Road, in Rosemont. Tickets are available at chicagogolfshow.com or at the door.

"The Chicago Golf Show is honored to be sponsored by The Encompass Championship, and we are very excited to welcome Jeff Sluman, Robbie Gould, Chris Collins and Mark Rolfing to the show for the first time," said Tom Corcoran, Chicago Golf Show organizer. "And, once again, we are elated that all of our attendees will be able to get a free round of golf, thanks to GolfVisions."

Winner of the 1988 PGA Championship, Sluman is the fourth major champion since 2008 to be a featured guest at the Chicago Golf Show. John Daly, winner of the 1991 PGA Championship, rocked the Main Stage in 2008; 1982 Masters champion Craig Stadler appeared in 2012, and 1977 PGA Championship winner Lanny Wadkins in 2013. Stadler won the inaugural Encompass Championship last summer.

Since it began in 1984, great deals always have been at the heart of the Chicago Golf Show, and this year is no exception. As always, show attendees will be able to get tremendous bargains on clubs, balls, shoes, apparel, golf bags and more.

The Encompass Championship will offer show attendees half-price general admission tickets to the tournament, June 16-22, at North Shore Country Club in Glenview. Good Any One Day tickets normally priced at $25 will be sold for $12.50 at the show. Attendees can pick up the promo code at the Encompass Championship booth and purchase tickets online at www.encompasschampionship.com. Moreover, anyone purchasing tickets at the show will be entered into a special prize drawing.

"The Encompass Championship is excited to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2014 Chicago Golf Show," said Encompass Championship tournament director Mike Galeski. "The Show is a great opportunity for the tournament to connect with golf fans who have grown up following Champions Tour players who will be competing this June at North Shore Country Club.

"We're also pleased to provide show attendees with a special half-price ticket offer so they can come out and enjoy the legends of the game, including our defending champion Craig Stadler, Fred Couples, Kenny Perry and many others."

Galeski said show attendees interested in volunteering at the tournament may sign up at the Encompass booth. The tournament trophy will be on display in the booth.

Plenty to Do and See

With more than 400 booths on the show floor, the Chicago Golf Show offers attendees a lot do see and do. For one, it's possible to plan golf trips to any of the 80 domestic and international golf travel destinations exhibiting at the Show. Hit the latest golf clubs at the show's indoor driving range. Get fitted for a new set of clubs. Attend game-improvement seminars at the Main Stage, where top instructors share their insights on how to hit the ball farther off the tee, make more putts and/or hit more fairways.

Last year's Chicago Golf Show set an attendance record of 19,200 for the three-day weekend event. The Chicago Golf Show is the nation's oldest consumer golf show and the second largest.

The Chicago Golf Show is the only golf show supported by the Illinois PGA. As always, Illinois PGA professionals will be on hand to offer attendees free lessons on the full swing, short game, and putting. Esteemed golf instructors will conduct seminars on the Main Stage to help attendees get their games in shape for the coming season.

Another major Chicago Golf Show supporter is the Illinois Junior Golf Association, which will provide information on its competitive tournament programs and once again will conduct its popular scavenger hunt for young golfers.
